What makes us different
Not a trick, a trade
You don't learn a trade from a book alone. You learn it in the atelier, next to someone who has mastered it. Seven things we do differently.
The whole chain, not one trick
You don't just learn a framework. You learn what a client really needs: the domain, DNS and mail that arrives, hosting, the site in four languages, the brand, AI, security, being found and invoicing through Peppol.
All of IT, including what hardly anyone teaches
From Linux and networks to mainframe (COBOL, JCL, z/OS), quantum computing, IoT, security and NIS2.
AI as a tool, done properly
You learn to prompt, plan sessions, use agents and review AI code as if a colleague wrote it. Whoever knows the trade gets the most out of AI.
Real things, reviewed
You build sites and systems that work, not a practice app. Neal reviews every assignment, with line-by-line comments.
Taste, not just technique
Colour, typography, brand, accessibility, light and dark. You learn why something is beautiful and usable, and how to give every client a face of their own.
A guild in a learning house
You earn ranks with work, not attendance. At the end, a masterpiece on real work, which you defend.
Honest
No job guarantees, no promises that you'll be senior in a few weeks, no hidden costs, no lock-in. What can be free is free.
Review
This is how Neal reviews your work
You hand in an assignment on the Workbench. Neal reads it line by line and says why for every comment. Click a marked line.

Built by your master
This is what Neal builds. This is what you learn here.
No practice examples: real projects running today. Pick one and see which links of The Chain it holds. Every link is a craft you learn here.
Draad
See it liveHis own free Bible study app, live in 35 languages: the whole Bible text per translation, worked-out passages, a word search and a kids mode.
What you learn from it: building in many languages, keeping a large amount of text fast, and an app everyone can use, children too.

The Chain
From the first conversation to live
What a client really needs, in ten links. Each link is a craft. Whoever knows the whole chain can help a client completely: that is the heart of what we promise.

Where do you start?
Your first craft, in two questions
Pick what draws you and how much time you have. You see straight away where to start and roughly how long the Apprentice modules take.
The Path
Apprentice, Compagnon, Master
You earn every rank with work, not with money. The hallmark comes back at every rank: an outline, half filled, full.
Apprentice
You follow the modules of a first craft and do an assignment for each module. Everything you hand in gets reviewed.
You become a Compagnon with all Apprentice modules of one craft and a Compagnon test.
Compagnon
You have mastered one craft. You build larger projects and prepare your masterpiece.
You become a Master with the masterpiece: real work, judged by Neal.
Master
You passed your masterpiece and know your trade. What you do with it is your choice.
You are a Master per craft. After that you can start another craft.
You can't buy a rank: you earn it with work, whichever offer you choose.
Who it is for
For people who want to really know the trade
You don't need any skills to start. You do need to want to learn by doing.
The career changer
You work in hospitality, care, logistics or teaching and want to move into IT, but you can't find your way between expensive bootcamps and random videos.
The young starter
Just graduated, or without a degree. You want to work on real projects instead of following tutorials forever.
The half IT person
You can already do something: a WordPress site, some Excel, some Python. Now you want the whole trade.
The job seeker
You want to retrain for a trade with work in it. We look with you at what support might be possible.
The team
You want your own people to keep learning: AI, security, DNS and mail, or programming.
